My thoughts on the Dating World!

So I am a couple months into the dating world and I must say that I am not a big fan of this world.  It has been way over 2 years since I have been in the world & even before that, I never really was in it.  From middle school until now, for the most part, I have always been in a relationship.  So really jumping into this world has upset me just a little bit....

I have discussed these upsetting topics of dating with numerous girls and they all agree with me on how guys & the dating world are...

So...HERE WE GO....

#1--It's not the 1940's anymore
Recently I watched the notebook...ok so I know that this is not a reliable source because it is a movie, but every person on this earth would love a relationship/love like Alli & Noah.  But when it comes to my point of it not being the 40's anymore, guys just don't take girls to dances and to lay in the street or anything creative! Where is the effort now a days?? The way to impress a girl is by creativity! How sweet is it when Noah takes Alli to lay in the street and they laugh about "all the cars" running over them?? He also takes her to his dream house (which is a shack at this point) to have a picnic! Now I know "The Notebook" is a movie, but these are things that COULD be done by guys in 2010 but it is not! (or maybe I just haven't found the right guy!) NOTE TO GUYS:CREATIVITY!

#2--Has your mother taught you ANYTHING???
So I have been on a couple dates where taking a vehicle has been a necessity and my date HAS NOT OPENED MY DOOR! I guess I am old fashion, but I thought that this was something that Mothers taught their sons in the adolescent years! I guess I was wrong?!! I know that I will teach my son this! It is just respectful and really shows "a good guy!"

#3--TEXTING vs. CALLING!!!
I know that the majority of girls can agree with me on this point.  Texting is the worst way to ask a girl out! I guess this also goes back to being old-fashion, but when you really like a girl and you want to take her out on a date, have the RESPECT and decency to CALL HER! Now this is going towards the first couple of dates! After dating for a little bit, texting is ok! How long does it take to call a girl and ask her on a date? Maybe 3 minutes??! In my opinion, it looks like you are not MANLY if you can not call a girl to ask her on a date! TAKE NOTES BOYS!

#4--ARE YOU TOOOO CHEAP??
So the new thing that guys ask now days is IN A TEXT for the first time that you have a date...."Want to come watch a movie at my place?" HELLLLLO! Can you not take me to the movies? And this is generally how guys start relationships! #1..This is not creative.  A girl can watch a movie any day at any time on the couch! #2..Can you not afford to take a girl to the movies if you like her? Now when you have been to the movies and you want to hang out again, it's ok.  But for the first time hanging out??? NOOOOO!!! I know that lots of girls can agree with me on this one! Now ok...everyone has busy schedules and so during the week we are all busy! SO..after the first date has happened, laying on the couch relaxing and watching a movie is FINE!

#5--GIRLS CAN'T DO ALL THE WORK!
At first I thought it was just me, BUT after talking to other single girls, IT'S THE GUYS ON THIS ONE! Girls can not initiate everything! The way to impress a girl is by taking initiative on things.  The number one way to lose a girl is by not putting in the effort in the early stages.  Even if we like you, we are NOT going to wait around forever! You WILL know if we don't like you! We will make it obvious! SO if you don't see that, TRY A LITTLE HARDER IF YOU LIKE THAT PERSON!!!

#6--FLOWERS!
Flowers show it all! End of story!

Well that is my view on this topic! I know you are probably thinking this girl is ridiculous and crazy but I know that there is a REAL MAN out there that God has instilled all of these GREAT-OLD FASHION Characteristics in that is on his path of finding me now! BUT...even though all of these things are great, THEY DO NOT NECESSARILY DEFINE WHO SOMEONE IS! Guys can be absolutely amazing and forget some of these things...what it all boils down to is...DOES HE MAKE ME LAUGH? DOES HE MAKE ME FEEL SAFE? DOES HE MAKE ME FEEL LOVED?? ARE WE HAVING FUN?? So I will continue to pray for my future hubby and that he is stress free happy and living a good life and on the way to finding ME! :)

I hope that everyone has a great night! See ya tomorrow!

But as everyone who knows me knows, I am a SOCIAL BUTTERFLY! So..having that one on one interaction with people is just right up my alley! I work tomorrow (Wednesday) from 2-6 so COME SEEEEEE ME!!!! You will want to buy the ENTIRE store! I promise! So bring lotttttsss of $$$$!

All Aboard!!

I've decided, after some deliberation, that I'm going to start a personal blog. I want it to be a place for friends to come and share thoughts and ideas on the world at large, and for me to share with you a more personal side of who I am and what my life entails. So here begins a whole new journey; it's one i hope we both enjoy!

Today & this week--

You just have to love MONDAYS!!!! I started the day feeling like I was going to have a really good day! It was just one of those feelings! I went to class, then after class, my sister Brandi and I went on a little SHOPPPPPPING SPREEE! We had such a great time until we were on our way to IMPRESSIONS to pick up my Arkansas vs. Alabama game day dress when HELLO COP! I was driving down Mission and didn't realize that I was driving through a SCHOOL ZONE at 3 o'clock! There is nothing more embarrassing than getting pulled over in front of lines of traffic in front of an elementary school!!! I told my sister, "I've got this...I'm just going to pull the SWEET card on him!" FAIL FAIL FAIL!!!!!!! I got a ticket :( I was going 41 in a 25! The first thing Brandi said when we pulled off was..."I thought you had that???" All I could say was "Brandi, learn from your big sisters mistakes!" We died laughing!

What is new in my life...

October 16th, I am running in my FIRST 5k! I am so excited! It is the Little Rock Race for the Cure! I am really looking forward to helping out with this organization and running in the race!

So the 5k is 3.1 miles! AND TODAY....I ran 3.19 miles WITHOUT STOPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I am almost ready! I have been working at this for a while so I am really excited! This is something that I have been wanting to do for me and I have so much motivation behind myself to do this.

So...For those of you who are not runners...LIKE ME!, let me tell you what I have discovered that really helps...
SONG---Must have an upbeat song! My running song is Disturbia by Rihanna! I keep this song on repeat & the beat of the song gives me that push to keep running...hahaha! Seriously!
GUM---TODAY I REALIZED THIS...When you are focused on chewing your gum, you forget that you are running! Try it and you will agree! :)
CRUSH---So I know this is retarded, BUT...if you can picture your absolute dream guy/girl on the treadmill behind you or in the same gym, you will actually have SOOO much more adrenaline.
THOSE ARE MY NEW THOUGHTS ON RUNNING!

So as most people know, I have had a crazy last couple of months...this picture kinda describes what I feel like has been going on...
I have felt like I have been running away from a lot of things and worrying a lot but recently, I have put ALL of my trust in God and that he is going to bless me with what I need! So God...when you are ready....

Have a great night!
