My thoughts on the Dating World!

So I am a couple months into the dating world and I must say that I am not a big fan of this world.  It has been way over 2 years since I have been in the world & even before that, I never really was in it.  From middle school until now, for the most part, I have always been in a relationship.  So really jumping into this world has upset me just a little bit....

I have discussed these upsetting topics of dating with numerous girls and they all agree with me on how guys & the dating world are...

So...HERE WE GO....

#1--It's not the 1940's anymore
Recently I watched the notebook...ok so I know that this is not a reliable source because it is a movie, but every person on this earth would love a relationship/love like Alli & Noah.  But when it comes to my point of it not being the 40's anymore, guys just don't take girls to dances and to lay in the street or anything creative! Where is the effort now a days?? The way to impress a girl is by creativity! How sweet is it when Noah takes Alli to lay in the street and they laugh about "all the cars" running over them?? He also takes her to his dream house (which is a shack at this point) to have a picnic! Now I know "The Notebook" is a movie, but these are things that COULD be done by guys in 2010 but it is not! (or maybe I just haven't found the right guy!) NOTE TO GUYS:CREATIVITY!

#2--Has your mother taught you ANYTHING???
So I have been on a couple dates where taking a vehicle has been a necessity and my date HAS NOT OPENED MY DOOR! I guess I am old fashion, but I thought that this was something that Mothers taught their sons in the adolescent years! I guess I was wrong?!! I know that I will teach my son this! It is just respectful and really shows "a good guy!"

#3--TEXTING vs. CALLING!!!
I know that the majority of girls can agree with me on this point.  Texting is the worst way to ask a girl out! I guess this also goes back to being old-fashion, but when you really like a girl and you want to take her out on a date, have the RESPECT and decency to CALL HER! Now this is going towards the first couple of dates! After dating for a little bit, texting is ok! How long does it take to call a girl and ask her on a date? Maybe 3 minutes??! In my opinion, it looks like you are not MANLY if you can not call a girl to ask her on a date! TAKE NOTES BOYS!

#4--ARE YOU TOOOO CHEAP??
So the new thing that guys ask now days is IN A TEXT for the first time that you have a date...."Want to come watch a movie at my place?" HELLLLLO! Can you not take me to the movies? And this is generally how guys start relationships! #1..This is not creative.  A girl can watch a movie any day at any time on the couch! #2..Can you not afford to take a girl to the movies if you like her? Now when you have been to the movies and you want to hang out again, it's ok.  But for the first time hanging out??? NOOOOO!!! I know that lots of girls can agree with me on this one! Now ok...everyone has busy schedules and so during the week we are all busy! SO..after the first date has happened, laying on the couch relaxing and watching a movie is FINE!

#5--GIRLS CAN'T DO ALL THE WORK!
At first I thought it was just me, BUT after talking to other single girls, IT'S THE GUYS ON THIS ONE! Girls can not initiate everything! The way to impress a girl is by taking initiative on things.  The number one way to lose a girl is by not putting in the effort in the early stages.  Even if we like you, we are NOT going to wait around forever! You WILL know if we don't like you! We will make it obvious! SO if you don't see that, TRY A LITTLE HARDER IF YOU LIKE THAT PERSON!!!

#6--FLOWERS!
Flowers show it all! End of story!

Well that is my view on this topic! I know you are probably thinking this girl is ridiculous and crazy but I know that there is a REAL MAN out there that God has instilled all of these GREAT-OLD FASHION Characteristics in that is on his path of finding me now! BUT...even though all of these things are great, THEY DO NOT NECESSARILY DEFINE WHO SOMEONE IS! Guys can be absolutely amazing and forget some of these things...what it all boils down to is...DOES HE MAKE ME LAUGH? DOES HE MAKE ME FEEL SAFE? DOES HE MAKE ME FEEL LOVED?? ARE WE HAVING FUN?? So I will continue to pray for my future hubby and that he is stress free happy and living a good life and on the way to finding ME! :)

I hope that everyone has a great night! See ya tomorrow!

  2. Thanks Kati! I have been debating taking this post off or leaving it. I feel like I am going to scare boys away from EVER wanting to date me! But then again, I am just trusting in God for a guy! :)
